Camp trainers were kind, nice and funny. They has entertained me by doing funny things. Cat was my group’s trainer. She was strict and gets angry if we are too noisy or did naughty things. Although she is strict, she isn’t just strict, she is kind too. She was kind by helping us in activities such as rafting. Ling wasn’t my group’s trainer. She is funny because once, I connected hand(put my hand in hwe jacket)with her. Happily, she said, “This is fun!” She was always smiling. I enjoyed playing and talking with her. Jimmy is a great soccer player. Funnily, he splashed water to me when I was doing kayak.

Chopsticks!!!!!!!!!!!!!

 

I am playing chopsticks with Yuta and Asahi in the  canteen. Chopstick is the game that is played with 2 people or more and their hands. The game start when each person point 2 finger to  another person. If it’s your turn you hit the other person’s finger. If your finger became five, your hands are out and if you get both of five you are dead.I like playing chopsticks because it is easy to communicate with others and the  rules are very easy. I played chopstick 30 times in this Sembawang camp because I really like it!!!!!!!!!!

Sam Blogs about the Activities at G5 Camp

Grade 5 went to camp for 3 days although not all of grade 5 some were sick. Waiting time was far too long we only once got to do the abseiling in one and a half hours but when I went it was a lot of fun and also the zipline took far too long. The games were not very fun because they were for little kids I would prefer games for older kids. So I have some recommendations like: put more abseiling and ziplining things so more people can go at once, then find some better games like cops and robbers, and laser tag would be very fun if you had that instead of the sembawang race. The camp was good but all the fun activities were on the 2nd day.

Travis on Building Rafts at Camp

My group made a raft, which looked like a plus with three barrels and 5 sticks.

The sticks were really hard to tie together and we had to pull all the pieces tight before I tied all the knots. We had to tie lots of ropes at different angles so the barrels didn't fall apart when it went in the water. We walked around looking at other rafts after we finished we made a few adjustments because the one barrel kept on getting wobbly and slipping out of its place. We had to take it apart because we didn't have enough time to test it but it was hard work taking it apart because there were so many knots but they were really tight. so it was hard but managed to get it apart in time. And then we helped undo other peoples rafts group 2 raft was really messy and it was really hard to get apart but the barrels were really easy to get out. The raft took about an hour to build but that hour was really fun and we had lots of fun we finished our raft first and we had some time to rest. The raft never got to touch the water but it was still hard to build but fun at the same time I made new friends and got to know people better so overall it was extremely fun and cool to build it together. The raft making was fun and I had a lot of fun with other people.

Business Field Trip

Here are some photos from the "Business Trip" that 5SB and 5DC went on, on Wednesday. From a teacher's perspective, the students have been making great progress in their learning of the way people trade goods and services. Students went out to the Holland Village wet market, the Holland Village independent shops above Cold Storage and experienced a Q&A session with Suriya, a very patient store manager at Jelita Cold Storgage.

re: Grade 5 Camp

We have tentatively secured a site and time for our Grade 5 camp experience.  It will be at Sembawang Camp, in the north end of Singapore.

The date that we are aiming for is November 5th - 7th, 2012.

Thank you for being patient as the final details are being sorted out.  We are trying to confirm the specific program details before releasing an official newsletter.
