Market Day - Whole Class Blog

Yesterday was Market Day. We really enjoyed it and it was super fun.  Market day was a day that grade five students sold products and provided services.  The profits earned will sent to KIVA.  We earned a lot of money to give to KIVA.  At the beginning of Market Day, everyone did not know if they would get a lot of money for KIVA, but in the end, everyone did well.  Some groups earned $70 profit.  At the end of the day, our entire class earned a total of $173 in profit.

Due to the weather, we all had to move under cover.  Also, our posters were ruined and our products got wet so we cleaned off the water with tissue paper.  It turned out "OK" in the end because we all moved into Mr. Stevo's class, Mrs. Batlaw's class and the area outside of the middle school bathroom.  We experienced that doing business is not really easy.

If we behave badly towards customers, then customers won't come again.  We thought that it was a lot more preparation than was expected.  We also had to be responsible for who does what and who brings this.  All of us felt good about our products and services that we prepared for our customers.
When there weren't many customers, we got to buy things or play games at other stores.  Some of us found difficulty in bringing customers into the shops.  It was also very challenging to communicate with younger children.

  1. Well done Grade 5 - you adapted very well to the dreadful weather situation.
